Privacy Policy
A portfolio without accounts, advertising, or analytics scripts. This notice explains technical requests and information you choose to send by email.
1. Who is responsible
Alex Lyras is responsible for the personal information processed for this portfolio. This notice covers the portfolio when published at alexlyras.io using Netlify hosting and GoDaddy for domain registration. It also explains what happens when you contact Alex about the portfolio. 2. What this portfolio collects
You can browse without creating an account or submitting personal details. The current portfolio has no contact form, payment system, advertising scripts, analytics scripts, or embedded social feeds. Website requests still involve technical information, and contacting Alex by email provides the information you choose to send. Please avoid including sensitive information that is not needed for your enquiry.
3. Hosting and domain services
Netlify provides hosting and content delivery for the public portfolio. Delivering and securing pages involves processing information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, browser and device information, request times, and technical error information. This information is used to deliver the website, maintain its reliability, and help prevent abuse. GoDaddy provides domain registration services for the planned domain; it is not a portfolio contact-form or advertising service. Provider practices are described in Netlify’s Privacy Statement, its Data Processing Agreement, and GoDaddy’s Privacy Notice.
4. Fonts and other external requests
The Inter typeface is loaded from Google Fonts. This causes your browser to contact Google’s font servers and send technical request information, including your IP address and browser information, so the font files can be delivered. Read Google’s Privacy Policy and the Google Fonts FAQ for provider information. Portfolio images and social icons are served as local website assets rather than social-platform embeds.
5. Email enquiries
If you email alexandroslyras23@gmail.com, Alex receives your email address, any name you provide, your message, and any attachments. This information is used to respond, discuss a project, arrange requested work, or manage the resulting correspondence. The mailbox uses Gmail, so Google also processes the messages as the email provider. Clicking a mailto link opens your email app; it does not send a message automatically.
6. Purposes and legal bases
Where the GDPR applies, necessary website delivery, security, and handling general correspondence are based on legitimate interests in running a reliable portfolio and responding to people who get in touch (Article 6(1)(f)). Requests to discuss or perform paid work may be processed to take steps at your request before entering a contract, or to perform that contract (Article 6(1)(b)). Information that must be kept to meet a legal obligation is processed on that basis (Article 6(1)(c)). The presentation of the portfolio includes the external font requests described above; there is no advertising profiling or automated decision-making by this portfolio.
7. Cookies, storage, and external links
The portfolio’s own HTML and CSS do not set cookies or write to browser storage. Your browser may cache fonts, images, and other resources. Netlify may add its optional hosting badge unless it is disabled in the project settings; its hide control can store a preference in local storage, as described in Netlify’s badge documentation. Following a project or social link opens a separate service that may use its own cookies or storage. This notice does not describe the separate tank game, GitHub, Discord, TikTok, YouTube, or Twitter/X.
8. Sharing and international processing
Information is shared with providers as needed to deliver the website, supply fonts, handle email, or meet applicable legal requirements. These services may process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Their applicable processing terms and international-transfer safeguards are described in the provider notices linked above. Netlify’s Data Processing Agreement includes transfer provisions. Alex does not sell enquiry messages or use them to build advertising audiences.
9. How long information is kept
Enquiry messages are kept for the time needed to answer the enquiry and manage relevant follow-up. Correspondence about agreed work may be kept longer where necessary to perform an agreement, meet legal obligations, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. Technical information processed by hosting and other providers is retained under the applicable service settings, processing terms, and operational or security needs. There is no separate visitor-profile database or mailing list maintained by this portfolio.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, or portability of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. If processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. To make a request, email alexandroslyras23@gmail.com. Identity information may be requested only where reasonably needed to verify the request. GDPR requests are normally answered within one month, subject to the extensions permitted by law. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. See the European Commission’s information about individual rights.
11. Updates
